Two days ago I took advantage of the Black Friday sales to buy myself a winter coat; the first one I can ever recall owning. It came just in time, as the next day I drove back to the university and came across a snow storm along the way. This didn't happen in the Cascade Mountains though, but was instead confined to the far east of the state - approximately 20 miles from my final destination. The scene outside my window was reminiscent of a snow globe after it's been shaken.

It's been snowing here for the past couple of days as well, leaving a light powder of white covering the ground. The weekly forecast calls for another two days of snow before the skies clear and the temperature drops to -12° C (10° F). Definitely the kind of weather where a winter coat is useful.

I've been (and am now stuck in) Seattle, and I thought of you when I saw the news stories about all the snow out east. Stay safe!

Everything has been fine so far, but I'll keep a look out all the same!

I can only imagine how cold it will get later this month! How is the temperature in Strasbourg these days?

We are quite lucky, it's a warm winter here, it's 12°C outside which is not that commun actually.
