I just finished watching "Pooh's Heffalump Movie" in Korean and without subtitles. This isn't to say that I understood the vocal dub, but as a kid's movie it was pretty straightforward to follow on its own. There's something to be said about watching movies aimed at a younger audience as a method to increase comprehension; I imagine the process works near-universally. There were a few words that sounded familiar in the 68 minute feature, and during the second half I asked my flatmate how to say 'elephant' in Korean. Despite my best efforts the closest I came to saying 코끼리 correctly was still pretty far off the mark. It did bring out a few giggles from my flatmate though, which is good enough for me.

Speaking of that, today is her birthday and I have to work through the main part of the day. I hope she has a fantastic time, as she really is a wonderful friend. I did a lot of sneaking around two nights ago to prepare the first of her presents; fortunately, she seemed to like it and my back pocket only got a little wet in the process. Euh, not that anyone else knows why.

I start work in a little over four hours. I think that means it's time for bed.

I didn't mean to stay up so late; the only reason is because I spent so much time thinking about what to say about the movie and about your birthday. If given the choice I would much rather stay up late doing something with you over staying up late by myself. Do you remember a few weeks ago, when we tried watching a Chinese mahjong movie? We both fell asleep at the same time for that one ... although it was also while the movie was still playing! ;)

It can be a "dirty little secret" if you want.
