one after another

Today did not go well at all, for reasons that encompass academics, finances, housing, health, plumbing, food, and friendships. When it rains it pours. The good news, however, is that most of these shouldn't take too much effort to resolve.

i'm sorry :(
but i like your good news and remember..there's always something to be happy about. even if it's just "i'm alive and breathing" :) or "Linda is putting the finishing touches on my CD and I'll be getting new awesome music soon" ;)

I probably wouldn't have mentioned anything if it was just one or two items from the list, but it felt like things kept getting worse as the day went on.

You're right about always having something to be happy about. And getting new awesome music soon definitely falls into that category! :)

Oh no--I'm sorry to hear it! I hope it all resolves itself quickly. :)

I hope so too. The last item from my list is the only one that really worries me - but for reasons unconnected to what happened yesterday. As vague as that sounds. :)

It makes sense.

Being worried about friendships sucks. I hope you soon discover that you have no cause to worry.

Excited for tomorrow's match? I can hardly wait! Today's was pretty exciting, too.

I probably worry about friendships more than I should, but to me that seems better than not caring enough. It looks like everything has been sorted out with my friend - they said that it wasn't as bad as I had thought - which is quite a relief.

The match yesterday was ... stressful. What a way for Zidane to end his career.

I'm still just...gah. Here, you might find this article interesting.

I'm glad you have sorted things out with your friend. :)

It is an interesting article. One other thing I've heard is that Materazzi called Zidane an 'eggplant' - which is supposed to be one of the worst insults for an Arab/African in Italian.

I've heard a lot about how Zidane's actions let France down and led to them losing the World Cup. It kind of ignores the fact that Trezeguet is the one who missed his penalty.
Jul. 11th, 2006 03:04 am (UTC)
Heh, yeah he may have missed, but if Zidane had been there, Trezeguet might not have had to shoot at all :P.
Jul. 11th, 2006 03:34 am (UTC)
That's true. Then again, since he was the last substitution it's hard to say. I complain about Trezeguet in general, and had hoped he wouldn't be included in the French squad in the first place. Either way, I was secretly praying for him to make that shot ...
Jul. 11th, 2006 03:38 am (UTC)
Mais bien sur...

I'm sorry Ribery left. I bet he could have made that shot! *grumble*

Sorry, I hope I'm not being argumentative? You've caught me on one of the subjects I'm most passionate about. ;)

If Henry had to come off it would have been nice to see Sidney Govou in his place. Ribery ... yeah. Anyone but Barthez! ;)

Well, I really hope you will fix them very soon then :)
And that you'll have a much better day today.
Jul. 8th, 2006 10:08 pm (UTC)
I just finished watching the match between Germany and Portugal. That helped a lot! :)
Jul. 8th, 2006 06:15 pm (UTC)
Oh I hope the game today cheers you up, Paul.

I'm about to post similar feelings right now, last night was awful for me.
Jul. 8th, 2006 10:26 pm (UTC)
Had Portugal won life the rest of the day would have been unbearable. I dislike that team more than I dislike Italy.

While preparing dinner last night I found that the garlic bread I had bought at Safeway earlier in the day was covered in little white spots. (mold?) Figures.

Sorry that my feelings were contagious - completely unintentional, I assure you.
Jul. 9th, 2006 12:02 am (UTC)
Why don't you like Portugal?

And yikes, did you eat any of the bread? Either mold or crack. ;)

I don't think your feelings were as contagious as they were coincidentally similar to mine.
Jul. 9th, 2006 09:03 am (UTC)
The Portuguese are quite talented, but they don't play as a team (only egotistical individuals) and are prone to diving and play-acting at the slightest hint of contact with an opposing player. Cristiano Ronaldo was the worst of the bunch today - flopping around like a fish out of water if a German player so much as looked at him funny.

I didn't eat any of the bread; I went and exchanged it today. I now have crack-free bread ready for lunch tomorrow.

As long as you're not trying to copy me. ;)

hm... maybe the charm is not working? I need to go check back your sign's compatibility (sp?) with the year!
Jul. 11th, 2006 01:43 am (UTC)
Is the charm supposed to help with everything or just with financial matters? I can complain about money, but a large part of that is from spending more money than I should have while I was visiting my parents. Half of the things from my list have already improved ... :)
