Yesterday wasn't bad, but it could have been a much better day. I spent all night working on my anthropology paper and went to work feeling extremely exhausted as a result. My first class featured a lecture on the Mesoamerican city of Teotihuacán and a video on the subject narrated by John Rhys-Davies. Our professor commented sarcastically on how Rhys-Davies had only been chosen because of his part in the Indiana Jones movies and, to be honest, that's probably the truth considering the age of the video series. Of course, when a different episode from the same series was shown in my biological anthropology lab this afternoon the class recognized him for his role in Lord of the Rings instead. The times they are a changin'.

I'd wanted to ask Yuka out to lunch, but she was too busy with homework. Oh well. I had an interesting talk with a herpetology major in my cultural ecology class and kept nodding off during a film on vaqueros, then listened courteously as a girl in my communication studies class gave a presentation on how "like, sweatshops are, you know, bad, and, um, stuff". Listening to her speak you'd think that sweatshops were as troublesome as a fly buzzing around the room. Her apathy was rather astonishing, but maybe my standards are too high?

There's more to say, but a leaf-footed pine seed bug on the wall has caught my attention for the moment.
