tu m'aides & je t'aide

This week might just kill me. I've only managed to get ten hours of sleep since 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, and my body has been alternating between feeling incredibly drowsy and slightly feverish - most likely on account of my lack of sleep. Tonight I have to finish the proposal for one of my term papers and, ideally, study for an exam that's coming up in the afternoon. I think I'd much rather sleep than study, although punching myself in the arm is a somewhat effective means of staying awake. Who needs caffeine pills when self-inflicted injury is so convenient?

Our biological anthropology exams were handed back today; the class average was a 91.8% I've never heard of an average that high before. The lowest score was a 78% and the highest was 102% After the figures were announced a couple of the girls from my lab section came over and hinted that they thought my test had the highest grade for the class. Maybe. Another girl in our lab saw me studying at the café a few nights ago and commented on how she frequently sees me stay late to help other students who come up and ask for help. Why shouldn't I though? Besides being a nice thing to do it also forces me to know the material covered during our lectures to be able to explain it to other people later in the week. The easier it is for me to do that, the easier it is for me to write down answers when the next exam comes around.

That second part is just an added bonus though - it's great to watch as someone makes the transition from confused frustration to hesitant comprehension and eventual confidence.
